Narara Island
This is one of the rare places in the world where one can look at corals without having to dive down into the water. One just has to walk in the water, when tide ebbs, in about 2 feet of water and watch this fascinating underwater world of corals. We can just drive to Narara, for doing Coral Walk without sailing to the island.
Most people do coral walking at Narara only, as not every time one can reach Jamnagar on the favorable dates to visit Pirotan.
It has coral reefs, mangroves, sea-grass beds, mudflats, network of creeks and other ecosystems which support rich marine life & bird life. Here one has chance to spot octopus, puffer fish, sea turtles, lobsters, crabs, dolphins, ray fishes, jelly fish, star fish, colorful corals, exotic marine flowering plants, etc.
Khijadiya Bird Sanctuary
This protected area packs in an incredible diversity of ecosystems in to the relatively small area of 6 sq km. The sanctuary formed from 2 manmade dykes that separates fresh water from sea water, creating the opportunity to simultaneously observe each ecosystem and some that share both. This provides a heaven for more than 220 species of resident and a migratory bird such as Dalmation pelican, Asian open bill stork, Black necked stork, Darter, Black headed Ibis, Eurasian Spoonbill and Indian skimmer.
Dwarka
A city of gold – Dwarka, the mesmerizing kingdom of Lord Krishna. It is the only place considered both one of the four principal holy places (Char Dham), as well as one of the seven ancient towns (Sapta Puris) to visit. Ancient legends of Dwarka tell that the holy city was long ago entirely swept away by a great wave of water.
