Suryanar Tour Package

First we will visit Suriyanar Temple which is one of the Navagraha Temples located around 15kms from Kumbakonam,Tamil Nadu. Suryan is generally considered as Supreme among the Navagrahas.He is in a way the cause for all life to flourish on earth. He bestows health, wealth, long life and pleasures needed for a happy life. Visiting the Sun temple or Offering a pooja/archana will remove all doshas linked to the Sun God and benefit immensly. The presiding deity here is Suryan giving darshan along with his consorts Usha Devi & Chaya Devi in a chariot like vimaanam, representing the sun's chariot. Every year in mid January, the harvest festival is celebrated in thanks giving and to honour the lord.

At noon we will visit to Lord Saraparameswarar Temple in Tirucherai. Lord Shiva graces in the temple as Swaymbumurthi. This is the only temple where three Durgas are present as Shiva Durga, Vaishnavi Durga and Vishnu Durga. The rays of Sun falls on the Lord and the feet of Mother Gnambikai on 13, 14 and 15th day of Masi Month (February-March). Festival Seasons are Mahashivarathri in Masi (February-March), Iypasi Annabishekam (October-November) and Margazhi Tiruvadhirai (December-January).

Evening we arrive to Alangudi which is a small town in the Cauvery delta region. It is situated in the Tiruvarur district of TN which is around 17 km south of Kumbakonam. People’s whose Birth star sign is Punarvasu Nakshatra have to visit Arulmigu Abathsagayeswarar temple – Alangudi in Tamil Nadu twice in an year or atleast once in an year. Alangudi Lord Guru Bhagavan or Lord Dakshinamurthy is one of the "Navagrahas" and is referred to the planet Jupiter. Auspicious day for Lord Guru Bhagavan is Thursday. Annual Bhrammotsavam is celebrated in the Tamil month of Chittirai. Guru Peyarchi, the transit of Guru (Planet Jupiter) from one zodiac sign to another, is another major festival celebrated in this temple. After Darshan we start our journey back to home and reach at night.
