Digha is a breathtaking seaside settlement in Indian state of West Bengal. Initially, it was known as Beerkul but was later developed into Digha. An English novelist, John Snaith, insisted the then chief minister B.C Roy to develop this place as a resort due to its splendid location. Today, it stands among the most frequented places in West Bengal.

With an elevation of 20 feet above the sea level, Digha faces the northern tip of Bay of Bengal and cover a gross area of 3,153 sq. km. The climate of Digha is steppe moderate. This keeps the temperatures warm amid the year excluding the monsoons. The average temperature during summers is 35°C whereas winters experience an average temperature of 26°C. The average rainfall received by Digha is 500 mm and drops the temperature by many degrees.

There are limited attractions in Digha but they are visited by a large number of people. The Digha Beach, Digha Gate, Chandaneshwar Shiva Temple are the names of some remarkable spots.
